Never miss Ducks4Life
COLUMBUS — Oregon needed a spark. Dylan Raiola delivered, firing a downfield strike to Dakorien Moore for the final score in Saturday’s 34–26 victory over Northwestern.
One spectacular play doesn’t fix an offense, but it gives the Ducks a vertical weapon defenses must respect. Oregon’s revived deep passing faces a substantially stronger defensive test against AP No. 11 Ohio State this week, but the Buckeyes’ QB disruption and recent defensive breakdowns make this a test of Oregon sustaining its momentum.
That’s especially true for Oregon’s pass rush, responsible for three sacks against Northwestern. With the recent injury to Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, the Buckeyes are expected to start true freshman QB Luke Fahey for the second week. Fahey was sacked twice in the 30-18 loss at USC last week, so opportunity is there for Oregon’s front-7 to impact the game.
