Never miss Ducks4Life
EUGENE ā New week, another hard truth for Oregon Football fans: History shows 2026 will get worse before it gets better.
Firing OC Drew Mehringer is, at best, only half the solution. It doesnāt magically install an unstoppable offense. And there could be multiple problems still lurking under the hood:
Oregon was down QB1 and four receivers last week.
QB Dylan Raiola keeps reinforcing his brand for being slow on reads, prone to sacks, and sloppy with turnovers.
The defense is coming into its own, averaging under 18 points per game over the past three weeks vs. UCLA, Nebraska, and Illinois. But the O-line still hasnāt solidified, and the running game has just 7 TDs in five FBS games (not counting the 5 rush TDs vs. FCS Portland State).
A great OC hire will make a world of difference for Oregon in the years ahead. But thereās nothing that can magically fix the Ducksā flood of midseason 2026 troubles.
With No. 20 Northwestern and No. 2 Ohio State up next, hereās how 2026 stands to get a lot worse before it gets better:
