SEATTLE — Husky Hate Week is one of my favorite times of the year! The nastiest rivalry west of the Rockies is personal, and it stays personal, even in the Big Ten.
The worst-kept secrets of late November:
I’d eat Thanksgiving dinner once a week, year-round.
If I could only see one Oregon game per year, it would be UW.
OSU and that in-state Little Brother game? The Beavs have been nationally irrelevant for nearly three decades since Dennis Erickson bounced after the 2000 season with the Fiesta Bowl trophy and no forwarding address. The Beavers have been chasing ghosts ever since.
But Oregon-Washington? In years like this one? Playoff seeding, a conference win, and rivalry bragging rights all on the line. It’s a little slice of college football heaven!
Duck Nation hasn’t forgotten the gut-punch losses to Washington in recent years. A chance for another serving of revenge, another round of redemption, and a chance to kick the Huskies down the Big Ten standings. Expect bad blood, gadget plays, and soggy weather.
