LOS ANGELES — What a difference a week makes. After Oregon’s 84-0 dismantling of winless FCS Portland State on Sept. 18, there was a feeble effort scattered from Eugene to the Wall Street Journal pretending to scold the Oregon Football program for continuing to score when PSU failed to stop even true freshmen and Oregon’s fourth-string QB.
That click-bait drama-farming aged about as well as last week’s halibut left out in the SoCal sun.
Oregon freshmen scored TDs one week; the next week, an absolutely unnecessary hit on a sliding QB put Dante Moore in an ambulance to LA County General Hospital. Can you spare us the Portland State pearl-clutching now?
USC fan and player conduct on Saturday at the Coliseum should bring a sharp focus to the bigger picture. Still 5 yards from any defender, Moore started his slide. USC defender at the 10; Moore down at the 15 for 3rd down and 1. And that should’ve been the end of it.
But by halftime Saturday, a certain USC Linebacker was ejected from the game, took a steaming dump on his own reputation, and deactivated his Instagram to cower from the already growing backlash. All before halftime.
Please be sure not to email the USC Football program what makes their fan and player culture absolute garbage. Definitely don’t use this link for anything like that.
